I decided to go to Culinary School to be a chef after I was fifty years old. I had been in the Food Service Industry for over 20 years and I wanted to learn more. Why did biscuits not rise? What vegetables are easy to make that don’t come in a can or frozen? How do you prepare vegetables so everyone will eat them? How do I know what to add when my recipe needs something, but I’m not sure what to add? I studied hard and now I want to share with others what I learned.

Lori presented a cooking lesson to my class of 26 university students. Our class is studying aging with vitality, including but not limited to eating a healthy variety of foods. My students continue to talk about her presentation, lessons they learned, and ways they have incorporated her suggestions and strategies into their lives weeks later. She has had a lasting impact on me and my class that will no doubt continue to support our wellness journeys throughout our lives.
