Puff Pastry Boats

Ingredients

1 Puff Pastry sheet
1 ½ cups Mushroom or chicken pot pie filling with mixed vegetables
Note:
Thaw puff pastry overnight in refrigerator or 30 minutes at room temperature.
Cook mushroom or chicken pot pie filling with mixed vegetables before adding to pastry boat. Use
1/4 cup per boat. Warm before adding to the boat.
Added Touch:
For a shiny golden color pastry, beat 1 egg with 1 Tbsp. water and brush over pastry before baking.

Directions

1. Wash hands.
2. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
3. Lightly flour a work surface. Place thawed puff pastry on the floured surface and roll out to a 12″ x 12″ rectangle. Cut into 6 equal sized pieces.
4. Arrange pastry pieces on parchment lined sheet pan.
5. Using a sharp knife and staying 1/2″ from the edge, cut through the dough but leave about 1/4″ intact on the two opposite corners.
6. On each side bring outer cut edges to the opposite corner forming a ridge (boat) around the edge.
7. Fill boat with 1/4 cup filling.
8. Use egg wash on pastry edges
9. Bake at 400 degrees 12 – 15 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
10. Serve warm.
