Mince garlic and measure out the ingredients.
In the bowl of a food processor, place rinsed black beans, minced garlic, salt, liquid from black beans, lime juice, and tahini. Blend for a minute, stopping to squeegee the mixture off the sides as needed. Slowly drizzle in olive oil and let run until smooth. Add additional water one tablespoon at a time to get the desired consistency (like sour cream or yogurt).
Optional:
Add 1/2 cup of jalapeno or cilantro for flavor and fun
